I am sorry to hear about your condition and i supposed that you had a lengthy conversation with your doc about all of this. It is not necessary for you to request that your husband have a vasectomy. Why don't you have the tubal? There is new technology and it can be done by laser... what is your real reason for asking your husband to have a vasectomy? you can practise other methods of b/control.

Yes, it is completely fair.

A vasectomy is an in out procedure. Most insurances cover it and if not it is only a few hundred.

A tubal is not accurate. The chances aren't that good. Lots of pregnancies with a tubal.

A hysterectomy will lay you up for weeks and even apposes more of a threat to your health.

Yes your husband is at the right age and it isn't a major surgery. More a pride issue.

Good Luck.

Why not, if your not having anymore kids. Plus unless your already in the delivery room for a tubal, its easier for the man anyway. i had a tubal at 30. my husband was 36. when your done your done. plus with your health situation its more then fair its practical also

Dear my friend
I hear your pain and I urge you telling him the truth about what is on your mind and schedule you both to see doctor at the same time.Meanwhile go to Yahoo and Goggle Search for more info. Now do not be afraid to ask and it is going to be a task but do not discourage yourself for moving forward.Remember there are so many ways to do thing right and the doctor can tell as well as a second opinion before any final decision. Good luck.

It's not wrong at all. He should want to do what he can to safeguard your health. The Vasectomy is a fairly simple operation and will save you from a potentially dangerous procedure.

Has he already had a chance to be a dad is the first question..if so and you both are happy and feel there is no need for anymore kids then by all mean go ahead and ask.
Tell him he will benefit as well..he doesn't have to pull out!!! Enjoy and good luck

I think the two of you should discuss this.
Just asking him without a discussing about how you feel and he feels is not the best way to go. I think with honest and open discussion, he would be more receptive to making that decision.

Yes. My husband has one. It is a painless out patient procedure. For a woman it is a lot more complicated.

yup, considering the risks involved if you get pregnant. ... but you have to keep in mind also that it is something that you cannot force on someone, even if that someone is your husband, in the same way that your husband cannot force you to get pregnant or have sex with him...u can try telling ur husband that the fear of conceiving is putting a strain in your relationship and sex life... but ultimately, the decision should be his not yours...
