We need a world changing band here, like the Beatles or the Who or U2, etc........

I'm not so sure about a band being the greatest rock band of all time but in terms of the most influential rock ARTIST'S (because you can't narrow it to just bands)........I think you've already named three of them. I'd also add.
Elvis
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
James Brown
Buddy Holly
Van Halen
The Doors
The Clash
Radiohead
Nirvana
Those are just some that I think have made a huge impact in the world of rock.
Trying to pick one band who is the greatest with the best music would be kind of like trying to pick greatest inventor with the best invention. You might like one persons product a little better than the rest but you sure wouldn't want to live in a world void of all the others.

I wish you all would just get the idea....There is no greatest, band, player, singer, album, song, writer, type of music...etc!! it's not about competition. It's about ART! Unless we're talking about American Idol, Nashville Star...etc. Turn off the TV and start woodshedding. But then i'm talking about musicians, not wanabees!!

I don't know about world changing, but I think the best rockband ever would be INXS, pre 1997.
