I have been a practicing Pagan for 10 years now, and I find that people still believe that we worship the Devil. This is so wrong, we worship the Goddess and the God. It's just not the Christian God, who to me is a very unforgiving being.

Because their told to.
And good christians always believe what their told.

My sons first birthday is on Halloween. The Obgyn was a Hindu. I'm agnostic.
GO PAGANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. GOD is very forgiving. But most christians aren't. Didn't Ghandi say,"Christianity would be a wonderful religion, if it weren't for the christians!"

Most Christians are afraid to even learn about other beliefs unless it is derogatory. They don't realize that the Devil is a purely Christan belief based on Bacchus.

Since they believe their god is the one and only being they have to ridicule other beliefs. How else could they justify their belief.

One good thing about Yahoo! Answers is that I have found that there are a lot of people who don't believe in western religion. It is so reassuring and shows that there is some hope for the world.

The Christian God is a very forgiving God...I'm a christian believer and I never thought of a Pagan as a devil worshipper.

ignorance is all it is, the christian religion celebrates the pagan holidays christmas and easter and just worked in the jesus story later cause when they were conquering and imposing their values on other societies these were the big issues that kept people from converting, they wanted their holidays come hell or high water ,go to bedfordstmartins.com ,look for the world lit site ,look up holy whores,it is an essay about the real origin of easter in ancient sumeria, from the temple of ishtar,I read about it on someone elses 360 page and looked it up myself, it is not nice or christian either.

Certain sects believe that if you don't believe exactly what they do, you will go to hell, because you are under Satan's banner.
Generally, they are taught that they must believe this and shun outsiders or they, too, will go to hell.

Given that Jesus was the first to preach forgiveness, maybe you are defining all Christians too narrowly. Of course not every Christian seems to get the message of Jesus.

It's because the word "pagan" is actually an acronym meaning "Perverts Against Goodness And Normalcy" and everybody knows that Xians have a monopoly on goodness and normalcy.

UTISM -- a meme that is often incorporated into the religious memeplex, 'us' against 'them'.

Since you are not with Christians, you obviously worship their Devil, as do Buddhists, Muslim's, Hindus, Atheists, etc.

Because people will believe what they choose to believe, and no amount of reasoning or evidence will convince them otherwise, especially those who are already stuck in a rut of self-delusion. You can tell someone the truth, but you can't make them believe it, unfortunately.

I think that's it in a nutshell. It's just not the Christian God, and that's good enough--or bad enough--for many Christians. Plus there's a lot of propaganda against us. (Halloween brings a lot of that bilge out.)
