Nobody needs. Unwanted guests are not welcomed.
Can you cite even a single example wherein the US has come out for help. It pokes its nose for its own advantage. Look at the Afghan war, the Iraq invasion, the Vietnam issue.
When it has been recognised a thankless job, why the US still insists. No one wants forced cooperation.
And surprisingly wherever it is required to help, it keeps mum. The Israel invasion of Lebnan. What this saviour was doing. Waiting for Isreal to finish the motto of invasion.
Do not be misled, the US moves with motive only. Somehow it has come to love war. I find it ridiculous to find that the US is saving the humanity, where and when. On the contrary, the downfall of the entire humanity would be only due to the imperialistic designs of the US.

First of all, the US isn't the only nation that rushes in to help the needy. The US does rush in to solve others problems and starts wars that only end up making me wish they never had, as its obvious war only made things worse. People around the world resent us for acting so high n mighty, for having so much, for having and using our power to start wars. For acting like we are so much better than them. Even in our giving we are acting superior. Not always easy to like the US.

The US was the 108th (and last) country to send aid to the tsunami victims in Indonesia, and sent the smallest amount (based on GNP) of any nation that sent aid, and the smallest actual dollar amount of any first-world nation. Also, every dollar we sent (all measley $500 million) was either a loan or had stings attached. Most of it was a loan, and at ridiculous interest (28%!!!)

The US was the 46th nation to send aid to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, which, of course, was here in our own country! Even the relatively poor nation of Venezuela sent more money (actual dollar amount) than the Federal Government did, as well as sending millions of barrels of heating oil, both to the areas directly affected, and to other areas, to help the poor pay their heating bills because of the price hikes instituted by the greedy American oil companies, who all enjoyed record profits that year.

The US is always the last to "save humanity"! More so under this "president" Bush than under any other President.

Saying that the entire rest of the world remains as silent spectators while the US saves the day is simply uninformed and intentionally ignorant.

Get a clue!

No help is given by the US to any country without a motive, which is either materialistic or political gain. Always trying to fish in troubled water! If they are so compassionate as you assume, Somalia and many such African nations would have become better off long long ago.

Because we are a benevolent and civilized society. I know you have heard those words before. But think about them. I am serious when I say there are a lot of countries with governments in the world today that are not civilized.

We are fortunate to have what we have. Including our educations. We realize that. And we are willing, ready and able to share some of our blessings with others that are less fortunate.

I hear what you are saying. And it breaks my heart at times too. But we have to do it. There is no other option. To not share with others, moves us back toward the 'un-civilized'. And there are already too many of those.

You hear about the U.S. being there to help from the U.S. media. If you were in France, you would hear about French aid being sent to ....... . If you recall, during the recent tsunami disaster aid packages were sent from countless diverse countries.

It's not thankless. But media attention generally is drawn to those who resent U.S. aid being given to a group in one's own country, who the resentfull do not view as their peers, or when the aid is directed toward (perhaps) a neighboring country who view the recipients as enemies.

yeah.

you may want to... I don't know... leave the town you were born in once in a while?

the facts are... MANY countries give a lot to the MANY needy people of the world...

and the VAST majority of those needy people are VERY thankful for the help...

so... WTF are you talking about?

listening to Rush's lies again I suppose? If he didn't have fools to listen, he would be a very poor and unemployed drug addict...

take a trip to africa.. many people are quite fond of Americans there, some aren't... but many are... give back some of what God blessed you with and let God worry about those who aren't thankful...

You ask that because, just as they want it to be, their propaganda has worked well on you. Most of the time there is a situation in which others are "needy", it was the "powers that be" of the United States who caused them to be needy in the first place.

It's the least they could do, rescue those who they have put in a bad spot in the first place. Besides, they think that it makes them look better to the world. But, all sleezy things backfire eventually. Bush is doing a hell of a job of being quite the embarassment to the US, to say the least.

I'm not sure where you get that idea, but it wasn't from US press as someone suggested. We hear on the news all the time where other countries help people. And it's true, a lot of people helped us in Katrina. I'm grateful for that, so thanks from here in Mississippi for all who did that.

Thats because US offers help only where there is some underlying benefit for it. And they just like to poke their nose into everything and create further problems.
