Well, I think most people's definition of love is false.
In the movies, people fall in love over the space of two or three dates, and after some trials and tribulations live happily ever after. I think that is false. I used to "fall in love" like that, and my relationships never lasted.
Now, if you mean the self-sacrificing, think about a person and smile, want to spend your life doing for them kind of love, then yes, it is real, but it takes work. It is a constant compromise between you and the other person, and it not only takes love, but communication, and the ability to work together towards a common goal, in this case a successful relationship. Once I decided not to fall in love Hollywood-style, I met a girl, and we have been together for six years. It has been the hardest six years in my life, including things you probably would not believe, but I would not trade those years for anything, because she is the sweetest, best thing that has EVER happened to me.. I truly love her.
That is real love, and it exists.

Love is one of the most misunderstood facts of life, and the most essential. We somehow imagine that everyone automatically knows how to love. But this just isn't true. Love must be learned, and the learning process begins in infancy. The baby senses the love in the mother's tender care. He feels it in the gentle hands and sees it in the smiling face. And soon the child is aware of the love between his parents. He begins to realize that one reason they love him is that they love each other. He's beginning to understand love.
The only people who really know anything about love are those who have been loved. The only people who really know how to express love are those who have seen love expressed. A child knows his parents more intimately, more honestly, than anyone else in his life. Therefore, what he's going to learn about love will come from watching them day after day. Before he enters kindergarten, he's acquired more than 50% of his intelligence and personality development at home.
And that is how we learn to love, by seeing love expressed by two loving parents.

Yes it is and believe me it has problems and it does hurt. But it is real and it is the best feeling in the world. I have problems where my partner does not want to talk to me but I have sacrificed everything for her and will continue. I have never felt so much love for anybody in my life but you have to be aware that there will always be people who would try there utmost to make it fail.

Well, yes, in the sense that love is a term coined to describe a set of emotions.
But I don't know what love means to you. That's when it gets tricky w/r/t reality.
You might just have an unattainable ideal that you call love. Not you, specifically, but someone else's idea of love.

Hmmmm, yes i must admit love is real. Love can be anything; it could be attachment, it could be closeness or it could be something like liking.
I love my parents, I love my fiance, i love my fishes, i love my house, i love my car, i love my bank balance, i love my room, etc.
Love is connected with how deep you store your love inside your heart. The deeper it is stored, the more expectation you expect. Once the expectation exceeds the limit, you become blindly in love. Sometimes, actually most of the time love changes to hate, tht is due to it doesnt reach our expectations.

You mean in a chemical sense? Yes, pheromones do exist and they cause natural attractions between males and females. As for "spiritual love," I would assume it exists. The relationship between you and your mother would best describe it. Between opposite sexes and unrelated folks, I'd say love exists in a purely supernatural sense. It's difficult to call physical attraction love isn't it? If you can find someone who is unattractive and become attracted, I'd say that just about describes love between opposite sexes.

Love is VERY real! From the beginning of time, love has been real. It was out of love that we were all created by God. Because of love we were all forgiven by God. Love sustains us everyday!
