Good goal I agree - reluctantly. Shay would have got it.
Just shut youn eyes and remember Alberts goal againt the Mancs. The pain is softened

As a Toon supporter, I have to say that Stevie Harper would have saved it if he hadn`t slipped. However he did...
I admit though it was a good goal, Alonso`s vision was spot on, not many players would have even thought about having a crack from there let alone having the nerve to actually try it, so credit where its due.

Yes They did great, Well done LIVERPOOL. But I am having a problem understanding Donna H`s answer as she mention`s Shay Given, and he is injured, Steve Harper was in goal for Newcastle United last evening.

wow..............it was a brilliant goal from Xabi Alonso. a goal really worth of winning any match. even David Beckham would have been proud of that & an early contender for the goal of the season!!

It was a great goal, but if Given hadn't slipped over he would have made a regulation save to a silly attempt.

You don't see goals like that very often, and David Beckham's is the one most often shown.
