There have been several glitches found in the 'pointing device' on the 6100 series. The best way to work through these is to download the PDF if you don't have the user's manual.

Look at pages 62, 70, 74 and if the answer is not found there, search the index. Sorry I can not just tell you how to fix it.
;-D Try unplugging the external to see if it is in conflict. If it is, you can fix it with the config info in the PDF.
