If not then why not? Why is it we have no option but to tolerate peoples other religions & places of worship in this country and have our noses rubbed into their religions by having no option at school but to learn about them irrespectively without choice or option instead of more worthy subjects and the 3 R's. Come to think about it... do we need religion at school - of any kind?

The Chaldean Catholic Archdiocese of Baghdad (Babylon) was set up on 20 April 1553.

In 2004, there were 130,000 Catholics in 26 parishes in the Archdiocese led by Archbishop Emmanuel Delly.

It would be polite to ask the Archbishop before starting any building program.

The Chaldean Catholic Church is an Eastern Rite Church of the Catholic Church, maintaining full communion with the Pope of Rome.

With love in Christ.

Sure you can, there's christian churches all over Iraq. As for the rest of your comment, are you saying there should be no mention of any religion at all in schools? Might make it hard to teach history if kids don't know what a Jew or a Muslim or a Hindu or a Buddhist is.

no we dont, religion should be like sex or disease, very very personal. in fact it ought to be no ones business what religion a person is and how they choose to practise it. school's should be about healhty interaction, education, awareness, long lasting friendships and good mentors. Unfortunately the answer to your question is an obvious no, though I value your intention. I went to a Catholic school and I am not one, but nothing was forced ... in fact I learnt so much more about tolerance and respect that I want to send my daughter to a Catholic school for few years, just for her to have a different experience. I am married to a wonderful man for the last 10 years and we dont share a religion, I wish and pray that more people would be like us ... its not like we are extraordinarily tolerant, its just that we are basic good people and we appreciate everyone around us.

Yes, you can open (despite all problems nothing different than they faced in China less than 10 years ago or UK several centuries ago)
Yes you are right about schools too.
Schools should teach information and not religion (unless talk about all religions to teach real world instead a partial vision - like happens today - based on several untrue assumptions.)

Sure, but you may see it burn to the ground before too long. I learned about religion in school. But I learned a lot more about it on my own. Including how destructive and insensitive it can be. Personally I find religion revolting and the reason for most of the problems we see in the world today.

If you'd like to build a Roman Catholic Church in Baghdad, go ahead. If anyone gives you a hard time about it, just tell them I said it was okay. No problem.

Yes, if you have a contractors license. Then fill out a form DA-214, to register yourself as a contractor eligible to work for the government and a request to the Army Corp of Engineers to build in a foreign country (Form DA 9824).

If you are a competant builder u can. Bit tough right now i suppose but if u have a project go 4 it.
Also a church is defined by the congregation not the building.
The first Christians gathered in the streets and in private places during their persecution.Of course the seat of it geographically is the middle east where u speak of. All groups are targetted in wars it seems.
There are /were churches in Bagdhad.
heres alink 4 u

I am sure you can do what ever you want in Iraq!
Your church will probably get blown up to peaces by the daily bombings and blamed on the terrorists or violent Muslims!
Then you can put out another question asking why muslims are so violent!

I suppose you could try but wouldn't you get more customers if you built it in, say, Mexico? Also, would be a tad difficult at the moment. Religion's important to study in school in the context of its impact on history.
