you r talking about to very different thingz that work in conjunction to make your computer preform better

first GHZ stands for gigahertz. This is a measurement of the processor speed. The more processor speed you have the more commands or request your pc can handle. As your pc is handling these commands it needs a place to temporarily store and retrieve the data needed to carry out the command. This is where your random access memory or ram comes in. The more ram you have the more space you have to remember and process the data.

higher ghz is better and so is more ram.

i think the highest consumer rated PC come with 3 - 4 ghz but the rating are miss leading and allot of the performance test don't accurately show how fast a computer is. For instance a PC powered by an AMD chip may have a lower ghz but still be faster than an Intel chip. When buying a computer i always look at the benchmark test on how it handles certain apps to see what i will buy.

Here is a little more info on ghz

Gigahertz, generally abbreviated GHz, refers to frequencies in the billions of cycles per second range. Giga is the standard multiplier for 1 billion, and Hertz is the standard unit for measuring frequencies, expressed as cycles or occurrences per second.

GHz is commonly used when discussing computer performance or radio frequencies. In computers, GHz most often refers to the clock speed of the central processing unit, or CPU; the faster the CPU clock can tick, the faster, in general, the computer can process data and instructions. In 2000, Intel and Advanced Micro Devices achieved a marketing and technical milestone by releasing the first CPUs to run at 1 GHz. Speeds have subsequently reached 4 GHz.

here is more info on ram:

RAM, short for Random Access Memory is the short storage area for your PC. Often just called memory or system memory RAM is just an electromagnetic storage that loses all its data once the power has been removed. RAM is used by your operating system and other programs and games in order to store data that is required at speed. Computers with large amount of memory often perform faster simply because the CPU is not idle waiting for data to be retrieved from slower components such as the hard drive and can be stored in memory.

GHz is like RPM. Faster is better.
RAM is memory. It is like Cubic Inches. More is better.
The highest GHz depends on the platform. Overclocking is what some hobbyists do to get GHz much higher than what the manufacturers recommend. They can melt stuff if they run their CPU too fast. There are chips that can run at 100 GHz, but the problem is the heat and the 'Bus' that carries the data around the motherboard. Moving information is where the computers are limited, not just the GHz of the processor. Manufacturers must balance speed with waste heat and power drain, especially with mobile devices. They are getting around this limitation by building more processors into the CPU. We have Core Duo (2 processors) in the CPU now, and soon there will be quads. (4 processors) It will be a while before the software developers can produce applications that can use all the power available.

;-D The OS is like the transmission. OSX is better. OSX includes all the goodies that are like a stereo and A/C! Zoo-om!

ok there are three majer computer measurements: RAM CPU;GHZ and HD space...... HD space is a form of memor for storing all you files but it is a little slow so RAM is where your computer stores all the files u use often.... so the more ram u have the quicker acces your computer has to everything so the quicker your computer runs things like internet explorer(getfirefox.org....itsbeter ;) but when your running a game your computer has to do a lot of math and so ghz matter which are how many times per second your proceser does a math problem..... so the higher ghz the better and about the quickest ghz....well techincaly i have seen GHZ of 10+ but the highest ghz i have seen in a pre built system(dell etc.) was a pentium 4 at 4.26GHZ..............sorry that was a bit messy but i hope it helps and give me an email if u need anything else.. im happy to answer any questions(mxfreak92@welll u know)

First of all, you need to understand something...Ghz is just the meassure that RAM cards, Microprocessors and almost every card has...for example, you can have a computer with a Pentium 4 chip running at 2.3 Ghz(Giga hertz), that's pretty fast, that's the speed to wich a microprocessor can run and process all the information your computer handles, it's like the brain (the CPU). And now, RAM stands for Random Access Memory, that means that it is just the memory that your computer uses to run all the programs that you use, imagine that you have a lot boxes where you can put anything, you use them to put files, and papers that you need to use, and you are reading the papers from the boxes and writing into them using some kind of interface, that's how RAM memories work, they have a lot of spaces where the OS (Operative System, example: Windows XP) puts the files it needs in order to run the programs you need... it's a BIG difference, because Ghz are the measure of speed and RAM is a kind of memory that system uses...i hope i didn't confused you more...if you need something, just send me a message...

Ghz is the speed of you CPU. As the CPU runs fast, you would want your RAM to go fast too. But it is not necessary to have the RAM to have to run fast. But if you ram is slow, then your CPU may be just sitting around doing nothing and waiting for your ram. So you will be under-utilize your CPU.

In the same class of processor, higher the Hz means it do things faster than the smaller Hz CPU. But higer the Hz, more power it draws and hotter it gets.

I think it is getting 4Ghz.

But here is another twist, now Ghz is one way to measure things but now the trend is to pack more than one CPU inside a package. That is dual core CPU. That is like having two brains in the same package. That is actually higher power than just increasing the Ghz.

Ghz is the measurment of the speed CPU (central processing unit).

RAM (Radndom Access Memory) is the where the space where the applications and the operating system reside when they are in operation. The more memory and the faster the memory along with the CPU the better overall system performance.

Ghz stands for Gigahertz and they higher in number means the faster.....mostly this term refers to the type of processor running in your computer....
Ram is term for the memory in your computer....and also again the more ram you have the faster your computer will proccess as well....Memory(Ram) usually has been calculated in Megabytes but now with technology you can purchase ram in Gigabyte sticks too... AS for the processor chip..i think 4.0 Gig is one of the fastest chips out there now...and sticks of 1.0 gigs of Ram are also available for purchase now

1. Ghz is gigahertz. this is the unit of frequency. higher is faster. ram does the same but its unit is byte, mega or giga

2. yes. frequency is "cycles per second". if ur processor runs at 2 million cycles per second (2 ghz) and mine has 2.5 ghz for exaMple, of course mine is faster.

3. i heard 3.8ghz exist

no man you are confused
RAM is a hardware and a random access memory that stored the open program when computer is on, and delete them when computer is off
and Ghz is the unit use for processor that means a processor is how much faster.
highest Ghz processor which i've heard is 3.6 Ghz
Got It ;)
