I have manual transmission. It has 111K miles. I just had an entire front brake job done less than two months ago. Back in February of this year, I went to my mechanic and told him that something was squealing under the hood. I told him that it only squealed on days where it had rained the night before, that morning or if it was just really humid outside that day. The squealing would stop after driving a few miles. Usually, I could get it to stop by just sitting in the driveway and reving the engine with the stick in neutral for about 10-15 seconds. Anyway, he put in a new serpentine belt. It started up again not too long after that. Now, the squealing happens when I start up the truck and it doesn't stop after a few miles. Reving the engine doesn't make it go away. It's been cool and dry the past few days (just started this way a few days ago). It's most audible when idling. But I can still hear it even when on the tollway going 65 mph. Does something need to be lubricated? Or what?

it sounds like the belt is slipping on one of the pulleys. did the mechanic clean or condition the pulleys when he changed belt?. the pulleys get polished by the belt and needs that shine removed so the belt can get a good grip. try stuff called belt conditioner

you have a pully with a bad bearing.

get a can of wd40 & spray each pully that the serpintine belt touches, one at a time until you find which pully is making the noise.

I had a similar problem with an idler pully

good luck!
