The character was Nessa Holt. Because her father was connected with Ed, her past was a bit shady. At the start of the third season, Nessa had been given a new identity to be able to live with her father and sister.

The actress was Marsha Thomason.

Something about Ed knew that her father was alive and I think she went to go find him. I think thats what happened. I used to watch that show all the time.
