There are 2 types of IP addresses.Yours belongs to DHCP type. the IP addresses will change everytime u connect to the server.

There are 2 types - Dynamic and Static IP address.
It depends on what type of network you are one.
For Dialup.. i assume the IP address would change each time u connect.

Cable networks that are always on... i'm not really sure, but i assume it should stay static.

IP addresses being assigned by dhcp are limited in number so as each pc requests an address they are assigned a temporary one. As each pc drops the address when it is done, dhcp reassigns the number to the next requesting pc.

If one is behind a host file and a firewall such as Zone Alarm, they send a new IP each time they log on. It is part of the security package to protect the computer(s) from add ware and spy ware etc. Many routers have this feature too.
