It's only Sept. 20th! Conference play has barely started. Most 1A schools simply want to win their conference. That's hard enough!
For all you USC's and Ohio State's and Auburn's and Miami's, it's all or nothing for you: BCS title or bad year. Get real.
Enjoy your favorite conference regular season week by week and worry about the final BCS standings on Dec 2nd! Seriously!

Yeah, it is kind of silly to talk about national championships this early. It gives the talking heads an ESPN etc. something to yak about. Every week these "experts" have a new "can't miss" pick.
I think the fun of college football is to root for favorite team and enjoy the games. Anymore there is so much hype it detracts from the game.

Absolutely! You don't start talking about state championships at the high school level until the 7th game of the season or so. I don't understand why it is so different in college ball. Oh wait, it wouldn't be if the NCAA had a legitimate playoff system for Division One! Polls are a horrible way to determine who should play for a national title.

Division Two has it right. Start with decent field of 8-16 teams and play it down to #1. I'm tired of seeing all of these teams that lose one game and get bounced from the title picture. The NCAA better hope that team isn't the Sooners this year.

Pretty soon, they will talk about the National Championship for next year before this season even ends.

The only people who are tired of the National Championship talk are those fans of teams who have already been eliminated from the hunt.

No
I love it
it builds up anticipation, it builds up pressure for those juagarnaut teams,
Playing spoiler is huge in college football many of these small schools would love to knock someone out of the championship race

You are right. Since the University Of Florida is going to win it, it doesn't even need to be discussed this early.

Go Gators!!!!
