why do some girls like to pretend theyre not very smart?

1. So that the men don't feel intimidated around a girl that's smarter than they are.
2. To learn more about the person. People say strange things when you pretend that you don't know what they are talking about. They let slip some very interesting and revealing traits that you may not see otherwise.
3. To get others (men) to do things for us. That helpless act can make a man feel superior, thus they do more for the woman. Many guys enjoy that old fashioned aspect of the man being more powerful/smarter/stronger than women.

It mainly works on the younger guys. By the time they are adults, they no longer feel threatened by a smart competent woman. They are comfortable with a woman who can think as well (or better) than they can. They don't mind as much when women do things for themselves. But when they are young, they are out to prove to the world how superior they are, physical strength, good looks, being smarter than the rest, etc... So many teens don't like a girl who is smarter then they are.

i know someone who is that kind of girl, she don't need attention at all, i know for sure, that is her purpose. i know she was absolutely frightened when they found out that she is one of a kind. after that, the whole department depend on her, but she never attract attention cause she is very discreet and humane...

i know for sure the reason why she don't want any attention- being smart, people will start abusing her, using her, for whatever knowledge or ability she may have, i can see that with my two eyes...

her brain function is something else, she already multi-tasking while sitting, thinking ideas right and left, answering different questions on hand, while on the phone with another problem, people line up waiting for her, it seems like they need an appointment just to get her. brainstorming session, she's always there, she is "it". so you see where im coming from that she don't want anymore attention?

even she pretend that she is not very smart, people know who to go to, i guess i like her attitude. she is my kind of girl..

they're not really into attention seeking but they don't want to be rejected sometimes... coz some people try to criticizes you when you're too smart this is so coz some are insecure and they don't want to accept that you're smarter than them.

I don't know. I have friends who extremely dumb but I for the life of me can't figure out if they are really that stupid or if it's an act. I refuse to believe that there are people that stupid, but they are so good at it that I think they really are that dumb...I don't know.

Are you referring to the girls who giggle like idiots and talk like this "Like oh my god, no seriously."

I asked my bf if guys are really turned on by stupid girls and he said he's not nor are his friends. But apparently some guys like that, so that's my guess as to why girls act like stupid ditzes. It's like so annoying! Oh my god!

its the Jessica Simpson syndrome they think being dumb makes them cute or more feminine....i think its just obnoxious and sooo obviously fake....its one thing if you're naturally stupid, but to throw out your intelligence to boost a guy is a waste and a total a disrespect to yourself

i do that all the time. It makes people open up more cause they figure you don't understand anyway. You would be surprised how much you learn when you act dumb.
