I'm talking about my dad's side. They've been ganging up on my Mom since I was a kid. They talked cr@p about my mom and made up lies to everyone about my mom. My mom never did anything to them but take their cruelty. But when we see them at gatherings, they try to act nice, but in the back of my head, I know they're just being fake.
Now, that my dad has abandoned us for another girl, none of my dad's relatives would try to help us. They are really mean. I would wish something bad for them, but I don't want to go down to their level.

I'm experiencing almost the exact thing you are.
My Grandmother (Dad's mum) has been talking about my Mother for so long .. from the begining of my parent's marriage. My Mum is a beautiful person with a kind, loving heart and I can't imagine why my Grandmother would do something so cruel. My Mum isn't the only victim of my Grandmother's horrible words, lies and accusations, though. Mum has been through so much in her marriage years. Thankfully (it was for the best, Mum couln't take anymore) my parents have split and each has married someone else. I live with my Mum and Stepdad and I consider my Stepdad my Father figure. I still love my Dad and try to maintain a positive relationship with him, because in the end, he is my Dad.
Keep your head up, as the other responder said, and all will be fine :)

Yes, it is possible. Some people are bad people and they can be your relative as much as they could be someone else. Some kids get abused by their own parents or siblings even! Clearly, being relatives doesn't necessarily mean people are loving, caring or good people.
I'm sorry your relatives are like that. I hope you have some good ones on your mother's side at least.

Your mom has been a wonderful example to you of how to be and act. You must feel very proud of her. You sound very wise as well. It seems you've grown up and worked it out. It is very possible to have evil relations. They say the apple doesn't fall very far from the tree. It seems your dad has proven this. Thank goodness you have a good example in your mom.

It is true the same thing happened to me with my ex and his fam they couldn't stand me and they always said mean thing's about me to try and break us up.5 years down the road and me telling both of his sisters off and leaving town.Betcha they can't talk s*@t now atleast not to my face .K eep your head up, it happens to the best of us.

Lies are not just made up, there is always fact or reason behind them. Such as the bible many just assume that it is all a lie, it saddens me.
