If you can, get a friend - or friends -to help you. Be part of a group who confront the bully, preferably let one of your friends be the first one to tell the guy to leave the protectee alone, so he doesn't think you are the first person to jump to his aid. Not only do you avoid being the main person to come to the kid's defense, the bully is more likely to leave him alone if he sees a bunch of people mad at him for picking on the kid. Also, it might make the kid feel safer that so many people are willing to come to his aid and stand up for what's right. And finally, maybe it will inspire other people to step up and do what's right when another poor kid is being bullied.
Good luck.

Let him love you. Hes special ed!!! What harm could it do? So he'll follow you around like a lost puppy dog! No biggie. You have to think, special ed kids have a reputation for being stupid and all that. I made friends with one back in high school. I got in a bad situation and he kicked some guys A*S for me! So its better to have one in love with you than have one that hates you. Think of it that way. Anyway the guy is special ed, cut him some slack! Be nice!

It is tough because the kids that are in special education clings to anyone that will pay attention to them. They often become infatuated with their teachers. If he can understand that you are there just to help him and no romantic notions. Tell him you think of his as a brother. You are doing a fine thing and should not feel bad because someone loves you. People look all their lives and doesn't find that. Just let him know you will help him. Good luck to you

wow that a really hard question w/ lots of problems .. first you need to talk to the special person and let him/her the diff between friends and lovers . that is going to be the hardest part and the worst . be sure you let it be known that you do want to be friends . next the bully . he see you with him and probably don't like it which would make him just a Reilly bad person for either of you . tell him to back off and tell a teacher that can see this happening . . confronting him and speaking your mind is the best way tack you other friend with you . do lots a finger pointing and talking good luck wish i could be there

You start off the conversation as a true friend. I would like you stand up for yourself by giving him some options. Students can be arrested for assault and threatening at school, maybe to should share this information with him. He can get the bully off of him by saying hey you don't stop am calling the cops to press charges

That's a sticky one. It's very kind of you to try to help this kid. It's not unusual for a kid with special needs to fixate on someone who's nice to him, trying to help him. I don't know how you can keep him from falling in love with you. Maybe you just have to play along and let him have his jollies.

Hey, be a real guy, and not worry about who loves you. Special ed kids can love your friendship, and need it more than anyone else.
