Mr. Maher Arar from Ottawa Canada was considered a High Level Terrorist Threat, handed over to The US and then moved to Syria and tortured in a secret American CIA Prison for over a year. Mr. Arar was found INNOCENT and released ... he is now sueing for damages.

The Bush Administration speaks negatively of Syria, even after Syrians died to protect the American Embassy last month, and now we find out about this CIA Prison that has been there for at least a year. To me, Syria sounds more like an Allie than an evil threat.

well Bob, Saddam Husein was an ally at one time but after someone has outgrown their usefulness or like Saddam did, he tried to step on our toes by changing oil exchage into euros and ignore the us dollar and other leaders try to stand up to us in the UN they are no longer presidents they are ruthless tyrannical terrorists dictators, that how it is politics is a dirty business based on money and power, so there is no reason to expect anything sacred from governments or the powers that be.

That wasn't a "secret prison." It is a very public prison. Canada (NOT the USA) handed that guy over to the Syrians because, as I recall, the Canadian guy came from Syria. The Canadians are trying to blame the USA for their screwup.

If you want to know why every administration since Eisenhower (if now before) has been anti-Syria, simply Google the topic. They've been on every list of State-supported terrorism from every group in the world, from the far left to the far right. This isn't a "Bush" policy, it is a decades-long American policy.
