Assuming it is a line, then you have two points:
(4,9) and (-2,1). (F(x) = y, so just read off the coordinates.)
You can figure the slope as (Y2 - Y1) / (X2 - X1):
m = (1 - 9) / (-2 - 4)
= -8 / -6
= 8 / 6
= 4/3
Going further from there, you could find an equation for the line using one of your points (4, 9) and the slope intercept form:
y = mx + b
9 = 4/3 (4) + b
b = 9 - 16/3
b = (27 - 16) /3
b = 11 / 3
So the equation for a line through those two points would be:
y = (4/3)x + 11/3
Double checking with the other point (-2, 1):
1 = (4/3)(-2) + 11/3
1= -8/3 + 11/3
1= 3/3
check
So this confirms that the slope (m) is 4/3.

Well, you already have 2 points defined there: (4, 9) and (-2, 1). All you have to do is use the slope formula. That means you subtract 9 from 1 and 4 from -2. That gives you (-8/-6) which can be simplified to 4/3
