Lately, I started to sell on eBay again, & now I keep getting all kinds of weird emails saying they are from eBay, but they are not. It will be from people who have questions about an item I had for sale, but I know my item #'s & they emailed me the wrong one! Also, I am unable to login into eBay now. It says that I have the wrong password. I filled out the "get a new password" on eBay website & recieved 2 emails back! One I think was from eBay & the other looked like the eBay email, but it seemed wrong. The items I was selling are no longer listed! The time still had 3 days to go (according to yesterday). I emaile support at eBay, still waiting on the response.

What steps do you do to help fix this problem?

i've had it done to me twice.
contact ebay.
theyll verify that you are who you say you are and will help restore your account.

never ever login to ebay using the links in an email.
ebay will email you with your first and last name in the email but sometimes you can get fooled pretty easily so its best to not click the links thats how hackers steal your password..

USE LIVE HELP WHEN CONTACTING EBAY.
itll take forever to wait for an email.
their live help icon is on the main page they're available 24/7

I had someone steal my eBay name a few years ago. The person had me listed living in London, England with an auction selling a satellite (the non-consumer kinds). The auction ended with a winning bidder in Italy, which is how I found out about this incident. I was scared and thought I would have to get a new eBay name and lose all my (feedback) status. And I was worried that the person had access to my PayPal account (because I have it directly linked to my eBay account). Using the Live Help, I corresponded with a rep who helped me get everything straightened out. I was able to keep my eBay name; I just had to change my password on both eBay and PayPal. Although I had this (horrible) incident occur, I know I'm not the first person this has happened to and most likely won't be their last. Today, I'm still an eBayer! Best wishes to you and your situation!

Contact eBay as soon as possible here:
Securing Your Account and Reporting Account Theft
http://pages.ebay.com/help/confidence/isgw-account-theft-reporting.html

Those e-mails are called spoof and are fake. If unsure you can forward it to Report Spoof Email by Forwarding It to spoof@ebay.com and they will respond rather quickly.
