Liberal values of showing others love, acceptance and inclusion, walking among the” sinners" without judgment, going to the poor and/or and the sick and helping them? Or did he lead a life that was more in sync with Conservative values and have a look out for #1 attitude? Did he seem like the type that would want to limit help to the poor, sick and most vulnerable of us while rewarding the rich for being rich with mega tax cuts if they make 6 figures or more? If faced with a situation similar to Katrina, would he have been extra-slow in his response as the Bush Consertatives were? Did he live more like a person with a Liberal or a Conservative belief system? If you follow Jesus shouldn’t you follow suit with how he lived on earth for as long as you are here as well?

To the question from April N and perhaps others. For several years I've donated12% of my yearly income to the United Way (agency that is non-profit and created to help the underprivileged, children, sick, elderly, etc). I also volunteer at a United Way agency one night every week. Not that it’s any one’s business. I’m just in the mood to humor some of the infuriated rants that I’ve gotten for this benign question LOL…I noticed that no mention was made of your charitable contributions.

wow, interesting how much conservatives were upset by your question. I guess you struck a nerve. It must really bug the $hit out of them to look into a mirror.

You believe conservatives don't value showing others love, acceptance & inclusion? I'm a conservative & I'm big on all those three. Something tells me you are a liberal.
It's hard to transfer what Jesus taught in that day to present times, politically speaking.
Example; Because he saved the woman caught in the act of adultery, does that mean he would be against ALL death penalty cases?
And, if you noticed, while he saved her, he didn't back down on saying she was wrong. ("Go & sin no more.") I can imagine liberals screaming, "Who are you telling her what to do with her own body!"
He obviously wanted the poor to be taken care of, but does that mean he would have wanted the government to be in charge of it? And 50% of the rich man's income being confiscated to pay for it? That sounds more like Robin Hood than Jesus Christ!
He said you have to pay your taxes, but would he have voted for a politician who advocated fixing things by higher taxes?
He taught obedience to the government, but does that mean he wanted a big government?
P.S. The government failed on the response to Katrina on every level, city, state & federal. And that means several liberals were part of the slow response. And that is exactly why the conservatives want private charities to be in charge of such work. The bureaucracy of governement is expensive & slow.
g - I agree there are many "modern day Pharisees" out there, but please don't be so prejudice as to assume all conservative Christians fit into that catagory.

You have a weird definition of Conservatives & Liberals. I promise you the right winged liberals would have been carrying the cross.
Jesus died for being politically incorrect & that is the liberals mantra.
The Democratic governor of Louisana refused help from President Bush for over 2 days - it was on all the networks.
Goverment & Religion are seperate in this country but when convenient you try to mix it. Jesus taught to love the sinner & hate the sin. Homosexuality, sex before marriage, adultry, murder by abortion & etc. All in the Bible.
Are liberals going to take on these issues of Jesus?
I do not like to talk religion to those trying to use it against me, but you I made an exception for such a dumb comparsion.

Jesus would NOT have lived his life the way YOU do! How about the beggars who wanted money and instead got healed? Liberals would have encouraged them to "stay a victim" Jesus took care of the problem, NOT the symptom! What percentage of John Kerry's Income did he give to charities? What percentage did Dick Cheney give? Do some research before you come on here all loud and make yourself look Stupid! What percentage of all taxes does the Richest 6% of Americans pay? These are some of the stats that you should have looked up before you tried to prove Jesus was a liberal! Oh, and just for the record, God says "Loved you while you were still in the womb" so I am assuming that HE is NOT down with abortion!!

Give Caesar what belongs to Cesar, we should pray for the politicians to be picked by God, just like he said in Romans Ch.14. Some things are allowed to happen because God willed them, He is still in control, don't worry. Go Pray!

Jesus said it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven.
Sounds pretty leftist to me.

they are the modern day Pharisees...they believe that they have "divine right" to do as they see fit, and they just kind of ignore all the parts of the Bible that don't pertain to them... and accentuate those that they like...
the Bible is not some sort of Steak and Seafood buffet at your local Golden Corral that you pick and choose from as you see fit...
April N: keep living in denial... you know why Cheney gave that money... tax breaks... and you know why he MADE THE MILLIONS... the war in iraq...
yeah, sure... God loves people who make millions off of war as long as he gives half to charity... and how much did Kerry make off the war?
Dems are VERY supportive of education programs for the poor to help them get on their feet? But are Republicans? maybe you should do a little research... what are Republicans doing to help the poor exactly? Sending them to iraq doesn't count as charity...
what kind of Bible are you reading exactly?

interior the 1800's, it replaced into between the great 3 that pushed the theory that mainstream Christianity had fallen into apostasy. The Mormons, JWs and Christians Scientists all claimed to have discovered the the authentic roots that something of Christendom has lost. Hellfire and brimstone replaced right into a great subject depend of the situations. observe how each and every of those responds in a fashion that downplays or purely removes the belief.
