If you really want to hang out in Kansas City, which I cannot see anybody in their right mind doing, go to the Westport or Plaza areas.

Look young lady, if your not familiar with KC, don't go to the zoo.
The plaza is interesting and if your young, I guess fun. Nelson Atkins art museum is very nice and there are a few nice dinner theatre restaurants. There's alot more to KC than meets the eye.

Depends on what you are interested in, Westport and Plaza areas are alright....shopping, bars, museums. I live here in KC and I can't think of a "best" place to hang out...fairly boring when you have resided here for 26yrs...sorry not much help

Stop there and go South, until you hit Huntington Beach.
