Don't worry about it. It'll come off after the baby is born. DO NOT diet while you're pregnant, but DO be sure to eat healthy, balanced meals.

I gained 7 pounds my first 8 weeks. I was so afraid that i would gain like that my entire pregnancy. But then metabolism kicks in and the baby starts using that energy and stored fat and you start losing those pounds. At the end of my first trimester i had only gained 2 pounds. Who says you can't exercise? Take a walk, go for a run. 2nd trimester pregnancy is when you are supposed to slow down a bit. I went to Amazon.com and bought myself an exercise DVD that is 3 part (1st, 2nd & 3rd Trimester Pregnancies). It's not good to skip meals. Eat when you are hungry. Never skip on the 3 meals. I've found that even though i eat a LOT, the baby uses so much of it for energy that it doesn't have time to store on my body anymore.

Do not listen to all you read. Its recommended that you gain only 1-2lbs at the end of 3 months, but not logical. Ask around...see how many women only gained that. You will find a small handful. Eat healthy, exercise, take your vitamins, smile, and be happy that you are pregnant. Don't make it torture. I gained a lot. Too much, but its almost gone. I give it a month or so. I gained 70 lbs total. I have a 2 month old and I have lost 50 lbs. It will come off. So, say you gain a total of 35 or 40 lbs (most women do or more even), it wont take you long to lose it. Just be happy being pregnant and don't worry about the weight.

Actually according to my pregnancy book, that was written by an OB/GYN 3-5 pounds is a normal weight gain for the first 12 weeks. You are fine! As long as the baby is healthy don't worry too much about the weight gain. If you breastfeed when the baby is born you will lose it fast anyway!

Please don't worry about it. I'm really surprised that you are.
Also, you should be able to keep doing the same work-out routine you were on. You just aren't supposed to start any challenging new workouts.
I gained 47 pounds and lost almost all. Dropped 30 in the hospital. I started out at 116lbs. The lighter you were to begin with, the more you will gain.

Choose your meals wisely.... Choose low calorie meals with a lot of nutrient content... Ask your Dr. if there is an exercise plan you can do sitting down such as stretching or range of motion exercises... Ask your Dr. to put you in contact with a nutritionist who can help you plan meals...

When there is a will there is always a way...

i guess your doc said no excersises? but if he did not say your not allowed then you should do some excersises there are some that you can do and you can get them from the health departement or off the net. But it is normal to gain weight and people are different on gaining weight during pregnancies so do not measure yourself by what other say bc what they gain is different in what you are going to gain. My sister hardly gained ne weight while me on the other hand i gained alot during my pregnancy and i ate healthy and i ate alot of fruites and i did not crave ne thing unhealthy so people just gain differently so just keep that in mind.
Congrats and good luck.

No matter what anybody says. Your NOT eating for two. You can do some excersize. Don't go crazy or anything, but walking is good... And eat healthy snacks rather than fatty ones. Don't worry so much either... It could be water weight.
