PLEASE - get a refereral to a sleep clinic ASAP!! Snoring is not a trivial nuisance - if you have sleep apnea, it can do serious damage to your heart, even cause death! Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to be overweight to have sleep apnea. A simple machine (CPAP) used at night can stop snoring, eliminate daytime sleepiness, and improve your allover quality of life. (And your wife's as well.) Make an appointment NOW! It could save your life.

I am not trying to insult anyone but if you have gained some weight recently the snoring can be an effect. Maybe if you lost some pounds you can decrease the snoring. Also it can happen do to the tightening of the throat which can sause sleep apnea.

I used to snore so loud that my wife could not get to sleep.
I stopped eating junk food, drinking cokes, and stopped eating fried foods. I also started exercising more.
In two months I lost 40 lbs and went from 30-15% body fat. MY SNORING STOPPED COMPLETELY.
I hope that helps.

You need to go for a sleep study. My SO just did this a few weeks ago, we are waiting for the doctor's reports.
Trust me, it is the only way. It is not so bad, bring your pajamas and plan on sleeping. That is it. Oh they do attach a few wires to you, to measure your breathing and snoring and stuff like that.

Funny! My husband does the same thing, only he quits breathing. I finally convinced him to see doctor and he is scheduled for surgery Oct. 3rd. Do you stop breathing? They do have a new procedure where they insert two strips of something a little stiffer than dental floss into the roof of your mouth back by the palate, just to stiffen that palate up to keep it from falling back into your throat thus preventing snoring. I don't really mean Funny, just ironic funny.

If changing position doesn't work try the Breahte right products over the counter, one is a spray for the throat for mouth breathers and one is the little flexie band that gos asross the nose. They are pretty good priced and have had very good reports that thye work. What do you got to loose except for the hard kick or elbow in the ribs in the middle of the night LOL

Go for sleep study as you may be suffering from a condition called sleep apnea. Lose weight if you are overweight and get checked by an ENT specialist as well. there are various surgical and non surgical treatments available to treat this condition. Though going to a doctor is not urgent but its important that you do it for your sake.
