What Republican said that? There is no need to use nukes unless the other country starts using nukes on us. I'm not a Republican but I voted for GWB does that count?

Well it seems this would have to do with Iran's development of Nuclear Technology.

W does not want Iran to gain nuclear power because it will very quickly destabalize the middle east and even promote a new middle easter arms race (CNN).

I can agree with that.

So there is a need to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, but I do not know what the price for that should be.

I would personally allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons before going to war with them, because plain and simple they will not be able to use those nukes without massive repruccusions from the Western World.

But our current government does not realize that Iran is led by a smart man in Mahoud Ahmadinejad (I suspect you may have seen one of his interviews or speaches... if not, do so, you will not be dissapointed)

So if Iran was led by Kim Jong Il, I might be inclined to wage a war before allowing him to gain nuclear power.

I assume by nuke you mean wage war.

Anyway, it is out of FEAR, just like someone else pointed out so simply... I just thought I would elaborate.
