Its not that people are nicer on the Internet its that you have a larger group of people that you come in contact with. In one room you may have a dr. from the north a lawyer from the south and a butcher from the west. Also when a person is hiding behind a computer they can do one of two things be themselves or be someone else. IO vote for honesty on the Internet. I met my wife on the Internet and you have to be totally honest with each other. I think you actually become closer than you would meeting in public. But there are nice people in the real world it just takes a little longer to find them. Good luck to you.

They appear to be "the nicest" because they don't know you they don't have any vested interest in you. Because people use the computer at their leisure, when they feel like it. However, they are not your friends. Friends "give" to each other. Friends make sacrifices for each other. Friends "know" each other. You can learn some useful information or get interesting opinions from people on Yahoo, but friendship? My definition of friendship is too deep to be met by someone I talk to over a computer. If you want to meet "nice people", you first have to be "nice". I don't know you so you might be really nice and have just have a run of bad luck, but keep the hope alive. Us nice people are out there. Good luck, ;)

The nice people are online because, with being online you are in the comforts of your own space and not really have to do much to talk to people. When people go out, they worry so much about being judged that they become nervous and it is hard to talk to people then. It's like a person on the internet takes on a whole different persona when they're at their computer than when they're amongst other people. It's weird, but being comfortable makes everything so much easier.

Also, online you can be anyone or anything that you want to be b/c you know in all reality that 9 times out of 10 you'll never meet the person on the other side of the internet. So they could be a womanizing jerk in CA but while online could be "sweet as pie" b/c they know that no one can rat them out.

because in real life people can't just talk to stranger so it seems they're not nice but if you're more open you'll know that there are many nice people out there who can be your good friends.
