Corporate America also would prefer fascist police state, and so it is.

If you want to know what a Fascist is, look up Hitler and/or Mussolini. We the people ELECTED ( chose ) a Conservative Administration to run our country until 2008. If you don't like it, vote for, and campaign for, a Liberal or Moderate government in 2008. If you can't wait that long, move. By the way, did you vote in 2004? Stop sniveling. Ok I can understand where you get the fat part but I really don't understand where you get the retarded part because we are over 100 years ahead of Iran and about 50 to 60 years ahead of China? So America is full of very smart people. Police state? I would not think so because I can do pretty much what I want to.. I can even talk bad about Islam if I want to and no one comes over and cuts off my head. Kinda kewl huh? Sex drugs and rock N roll .. Yeah baby... We do have it easy..

You are not a wee bit cynical? :-) I don't see America as a police state but I can understand it. I'm saddened by that view & on many days agree with it.
So much "terror", killing in the world, & especially FEAR. Lord, have mercy!!!
To another part of your question, I would say that we are all retarded in some area of our lives.
Lastly, I do hope that we Americans can mature/grow-up. I would hope that we stop polarizing one another as "Demorcrats or Republicans" as "good/evil" categories. We are human beings who for the most part want a decent life.
I think there is greatness in us & in many folks. BASTA!

Seriously, I have asked myself that same question. I am a New York City dweller fyi, but do not consider myself a patriot in any form, although I am quite accustomed to my way of life.
Why are AMERICANS like they are, when no other country acts like we do. Is it that we can out on top after WWII? Is it our education system problem? Propaganda? I don't know. I really don't know.
