Washington Post declared Hezbollah "The Best Guerrilla Force in the World" and noted that, "As the declared U.N. cease-fire went into effect many Lebanese -- particularly among the Shiites who make up an estimated 40 percent of the population -- had already assessed Hezbollah's endurance as a military success despite the devastation wrought across Lebanon by Israeli bombing."

And they're right. Israel has accepted a truce that falls far short of its original war aims, failing to establish control over their border with Lebanon

As for outcome is concern "Hezbollah" got more support all over muslim world as Hero. Secondly USA will think over thousand times before it attack on Iran. Israel clearly lost the war.

no longer precisely. Israel grew to become into fairly for sure triumphing against Hezbollah however the international community did no longer like that. So Israel in fact mentioned that they may well be keen to coach the priority over to them as long as they made particular the missile assaults stopped (all they actually cared approximately). provided that Lebanon is obviously the aggressor here and that they in fact choose each and every jew interior the middle east lifeless, no rely the fee, i think of it unlikely they're going to abide by making use of the peace contract. this would bring about those international locations who have been condemning the way Israel grew to become into coping with this, being compelled to combat Hezbollah (permit's see how they like it, lol). i'd say that's the beginning up of all out conflict interior the middle east.

It became bigger than that. This has become between a diplomatic battle between France and the U.S.

France got a UN mandate to go into Lebanon with UN troops, while the U.S. basically went in alone in Iraq. Here is where France bogged down. The French general in charge does not want to fight Hezbolah so he wants the Lebonese to disarm Hezbolah. Lebenon said they are not going to disarm Hezbollah. So Hezbolah isn't going to be disarmed. Of course this deeply upset the U.S. and Israel, and to the U.S. justifies abandoning the UN and doing things on their own. Hezbollah also still has the kidnapped soldiers and Lebenon wants a prisoner swap so I doubt those soldiers are going to be free anytime soon.

But there hasn't been any rocket launches from Lebanon or have more soldiers kidnapped, so Israel got a partial list of what they wanted, so I think Israel got more out of it for now.

I'm an Israeli and I will tell you first that nobody really won. Lebanon has a chance right now to reolize that to have an armed militant group runing the southern part of their country is not going to advance their national aspirations. Israel is not an enemy Lebanon can afford to have just as Lebanon is not a country Israelis want to be in conflict with. The Labanese ppl have gone through unimaginable suffering during the past 30 years but now they can take back control of their land and their lives. But only if they make the decision to co-operate with the international community and fight terrorism within its country. And if they make that decision, Israel will do everything they can to help them.

when Israel goes to war it wins decisively.this is not the case.what the media did not talk about was that the Israeli grounds forces got bogged down by Hezbollah,Israel did not win the way.close to 3000 Lebanese civilians died and 160 Israelis died.however over 90% of the Lebanese were civilian and 90% of the Israeli casualties were soldiers. remember that Israel went to war to destroy the military capabilities.but the day before the cease fire Hezbollah fired more missiles into Israel than any day prior.once they failed to meet their military objectives.they in effect lost the war.

The war against religious extremist can not be won or lost, but must be managed.Israel destroyed Hizbollah's strong holds in Lebanon and destroyed supply lines as well. In the process of going to war, Israel again showed her enemies that Israel is unafraid.

Israel killed a tremendous number of innocent people for no reason and the united states was shown to be a biased partisan in the dispute with no interest in preserving world peace. Nobody won the war except those who relish watching israel look evil and the us looking foolish.

No, Israel didn't win, because we didn't let them finish!!
But they were on their way! When has compromise EVER worked? You will always have one side that takes more than their allotted share!

Israel didn't go far enough. They should have kept on pounding those guys until they got their hostages back.

They demonstrated that they will compromise, which I believe, makes them appear weak.
