Need help doing a family search?

I need help or suggestions to do a free family search to locate relatives I have not spoke with in years. I know first and last name, city and state for them.

Aside from public records, it is very hard to do a search about people who are still alive! Some government documents etc. are released to the public when they think the person could no longer be alive! In other words, after approx. 100 years! Let's hope that the have some info and communication on the internet! Good luck!
