When I graduated high school (2000) I had my pick of colleges to choose from. The advice I offer to you is if you are going to take the classes you want then you have to appear well rounded (i.e. sports or clubs). If not then you have to take the hard classes.

Is "getting into a good" college your life's goal? or will that lead you someplace else? Cause, if that's your life's goal, you're gonna find yourself really empty if you make it, or really crushed if you don't.

Getting into a good college requires good test scores, good grades in prep courses, and lots of money doesn't hurt. For instance, if your daddy is Ted Kennedy, I'm betting you could get 1000 on your SAT and still get into Harvard.

I guess I like your dad's advice, which is okay, cause my daughters are just a little older than you.

Follow your bliss. Your classes will help you determine where you need to end up career-wise, and life-wise. If a class feels good... do it! IF you find out that you love Chem, take tons of chem, but if you hate chem, take just enough to get you where you wanna go, and no more.

I've got a college degree from one of those "high class" colleges, plus 90 semester hours in a Master's degree (got that diploma too), plus a ton of college courses beyond that. What pays the bills and makes me happy? The work I do that doesn't require my BA or my MA...

I think the most important thing is SAT score and that one or two things that keep you grounded that you have been doing since you are a little kid.
