i have thought this before and it seems that in a way, humanity would have a common goal... to advance in what it must consider to be the most expressive form of perfection.... it truly would be a Utopia... boring in a way ... but nonetheless interesting to ponder. we must remember though humanity advances not by the new things that discover or create... but by overcoming obstacles and striving to surpass the that which makes it falter.

well peace and harmony are only a starting point of our societal evolution, of course we still evolve (evolution is both biological and social I would say) and even with peace in mind, there will be issues such as over population, habitation of new environments, technology to live even better, fight social injustice like poverty etc. that can be achieved if we achieve what I think is a minimal condition of peace (the inexistence of conflict) in society. Besides, most conflicts are within households, if you look at household violence that's the largest issue, peace in the house, peace in the streets!

Yes, peace is a good thing, we would live together without fear
some people don't procreate because the world is such a violent unpleasant place to be at times, why bring a child into that kind of world, when world peace would encourage more people to procreate.

In a given inhabitants, some individuals will constantly lie outdoors the norm (say 3 sigma). those individuals will the two stress the constraints defining the inhabitants, the two inflicting it to dissolve or to reason maximum human beings of the inhabitants to suppress the the minority to guard the defining limitations. In the two case, conflict is inevitable. If we've been to do away with all people who did no longer greater healthful into some arbitrary type, then the bell curve might 'tighten' and features that have been previous acceptable might grow to be insupportable. occasion: If Hitler and the Nazi's have been to have succeeded, then perhaps blond hair that grew to become upfront gray might grow to be insupportable. in the different path, if all of us grew to grow to be dramatically greater tolerant, the bell curve might widen and former features condemned with the aid of maximum human beings might start to call for social popularity. occasion: today, we are able to work out a upward thrust in gay rights activism. might that be happening if the controversy over premarital intercourse wasn't fading into consent?

Mankind only seems to progress in the face of adversity, whether it's war, famine, disease, etc. So assuming we can sort out the war side of things / people being generally unpleasant /selfish then we would still have to contend with nature.
Even if we managed to control all of that then there is man's curiosity to keep us progressing but probably at a slower rate than present.

Even more so as so much human abilty and talent is squandered/destroyed before it has a chance to even take root.

If there were true peace we would have more money to spend on our future, more stabiltity and more opportunities for all people to advance and contribute to one end - the benefit of all mankind and not for the oppression of others as with war.

Yes, they would. Peace would establish the ground for mankind to advance in harmony with each other as opposed to disharmony which is what seems to be happening currently.
