As long as your computer has the hardware and software to watch TV then plug it in and enjoy. But make sure that your computer can do that and has the TV tuner card.

Theres also a program that you can download so that you can watch tv programs almost anywhere in the world, via the internet.I came accross it once, -i think they sent me an email, but i ignored it as you had to pay a small monthly fee and even though it wasnt much, i couldnt be bothered. Now i have been told that theres another site that you can do this from,so i might just try googling around with the free tv and see if i can find it.Best of luck with your new computer, i bought this one about a week before those ones with the tv facility came out(what a bummer). But yes you can just plug in and go from what i was told.

If your video card is a TV/Video card then that is all you would need plus the software that came with the card, usually TV tuner software. If it isn't than you can't use that cable to watch TV because the card isn't capable of being used as a TV. If you have a broadband connection you can use this, I use it all the time and it is great. You might be limited to what channels you can watch, but its better than nothing and it is free. It's called the TVU Player here you go http://www.viidoo.com/en/download.php

If your video card has a TV tuner than that's all you do. The cable goes straight from your wall (or splitter, etc) into your computer's TV Tuner. Then there should be some software that came with your video card that takes the TV input and lets you watch it.
