Subsidy is a monetary grant offered to individuals or group of individuals to support a venture. Normally the venture has a social cause.
It is normally offered by the government.
Eg. - Farm subsidy is a good example (there is a lot of debate also going on worldwide regardign the same). In case the farming sector is suffering from high costs and thus making it uncompetetive in the international market, government might decide to give the farmers a cash back so that effectively the cost go down and the farm produce regains competetiveness in the international market

Subsidy is a money granted by a company to a person (employee) to assist him/her for any means (except drugs!!!). Like some company will give you 80% car subsidy. It means you can buy a new car and ended up paying only 20% of the cost and the remaining 80% by your company.

i have subsidy housing and it is where they calculate your payment based on your income and size of family, there is also subsidy for child care where you apply and the government will pay most of your costs...i run a daycare and the government pays my daycare childrens fees mostly-the parents are just responsible to pay 50cents per day per child....so it is a service to help you be ok financially based on your families situation!

Great Mo!. An example. There are infinitely many prime numbers. Assume the contrary. So all the prime numbers are p1,p2,...,pn, for some n. Now consider the number m = p1*p2*p3*....*pn + 1. Its remainder when divided by any prime p_i is 1 so it has not those primes as factors. It therefore must have some different primes as factors. But this is absurd since the hypothesis says that those are ALL the prime numbers.
