I am a fresh graduate of industrial engineering from a reputable university. I don't have any job experience yet. I was a dean's lister when I was in college.

It's not true that you have nothing to offer yet you are going into this blind. I am in management for a large retail company and this question is asked at our interviews. You may have to do an internship to get the experience needed. I don't know I can say for one thing though if a person came in for an interview for a position that we would have opening up I would probably hire the person with the experience rather than the education. I don't know what types of jobs are within your major but it's sad that I see these people come and apply for a job after earning their Bachelor's degrees because they can't get work and they have to work for minimum wage. Depending on what type of job you are going for would make a difference as to how you would answer that question. Maybe you can re ask the question with the job that you are trying to get.

You're cheaper and less likely to retire or get sick.

You're also prime as a subordinate for someone who wants to 'teach you the ropes' and lighten if not nullify their workload while still bringing in a paycheck.
