you are the parent, not the 14 yr old. you make the rules, she follows them.

When I was 14 I did things like that and that is how I know she is not trying to talk to his younger brother. Why would a 27 year guy (notice I didn't say man) accept text messages from a 14 year old to give to his brother?
Ignore the advise from the other people who told you to talk to her first. She is not going to tell you the truth. She is 14 you don't need to talk to her about it.
Instead stop wasting time on line and talk to the police.

She is 14 and YOU are the parent. Put stronger restrictions on her, take away her cell phone/computer privildges until you can trust her again. Do a search to be sure he is NOT a pedophile. Do a search for your state and sex offender and you should find the sex offender listings for your area. You can search using names as well. Then, either go to his house or confront him the next time he comes to your home and tell him that you WILL call the police and charge him with statutory rape if he comes near your daughter again! If he doesn't stay away, put a restraining order against him through your local police department.

It may not make you popular with your daughter, but it may save her in the end. Be her parent, not her friend. She will be better off.

Number one: you need to take her phone away. You are the parent. She needs to understand that you are the one in charge and she can not be trusted if she is lying. Number two: YOU GROUND HER! If you do, how long is to your discretion. And number three: CALL THE COPS!! You need to report the 27 year old guy that is text messaging your daughter who is 14!!! He needs to stay away from her. No calling, no messaging her. No contact what so ever no matter what the reason. And you need to sit down with your daughter and explain why.

Well, I believe that there is such a criminal charge as having an innappropriate relationship with a minor. This isn't something to dilly-dawdle about, get in contact with your local police station and ask for advice about the situation. No 27 year old man is interested in hanging with 14 year old girls for normal, healthy and safe reasons unless she's his kid sister. I would also have a conversation with your daughter, and talk to her about it calmly (very important) ask her if she really thinks that this man is just interested in being her friend, or if he's really interested in something else. You and your daughter have a very bumpy road ahead, and many more conversations. I wish you both luck.

That is strange, and not to mention illegal on his part. That's just uncalled for. She should know that there is no way you are going to let her, a 14 year old hang out with a guy 13 years older than her. If she wanted to hang out with is brother, than she would be texting his brother and not the 27 year old guy.

Take away her phone. Text to him: "This is so and so's mom. She is 14. If you meet with her, I will call the cops and have you arrested. You will be charged as a sex offender and be required to register for the rest of your life. Do not text my child again." Go to the police station and notify them of this guy and his intent to "hang" with your child.

Tell your daughter that if she meets with him you will have him arrested and you have already informed the cops of his abnormal behavior.

A 27 year old has no business "hanging" with a 14 year old.

You as her mother need to tell the man to stop texting her. If it continues take her cell phone away because who knows maybe the man is trying to get with her. If you her mother let her go there and hang out with a 27 yo male then I think you need to re think what your doing. A 13 year difference is a little extreme.

tell her to stop right now or he or she will go to jail.....if she listens great. if not....have someone she doent know just follow her innocently. all cell phones now hv a video connection. so the follower will call u on ur cell and send u a video and u can play this when she gets home with dad sitting on couch holding a belt.
LOL only if it is the 24yr old guy going in for a kiss. no crime if the two just talk and no touching. maybe she has crush on his lil bro which can be sweet. so u need more info. good luck

If there is something sexual going on, I believe it's illegal in all 50 states.
Please make a call, even if it has to be confidentially, to your county's Children and Family Services division, ask questions and let them direct you to what you should or can do. Listen to your instincts, they're usually right on. A 14 year old girl is still a child, a minor.
It's a parent's responsibility to protect our Innocent children from harm. I pray she's not in harm's way.
