I too have tendinitis. Only I have it on both of my shoulder. It's
painful and yes it will stiffen up. I don't think anyone with this will ever heal. I was 20 yrs. old when I was in a motor cycle and now
I'm 47 and I'm still in pain. But what you don't want to do is stop
using your foot. That is not good. Try some exercises for your
foot. Try going to therapy, they will show you some exercise.
and don't give up. When I was young I became paralyze. I couldn't feel nothing from my neck to my feet. I couldn't even
feel my toes. Mined you that was not cool. So even though
I'm in pain I do my exercises so I won't stiffen up. My back
is to wear I can hardly do anything. Don't ever get to this point.
Keep moving. I'm pretty sure you see a lot of people in wheel
chairs because they can't walk. That's what you don't want.

The only way to heal it is to rest it and it take a really long time. At least a couple of weeks. I have Achilles tendinitis in my heels and had to give up waitressing bcz of it. If I rest it for a while it gets better but after a couple of hard nights on my feet it would come right back.
If it's a sports injury you probably have a better chance of recovering through rest. If it's occupational and you work on your feet you may always have problems that reoccur.

The only thing you can do is take anti-inflammatories and try not to over work it while it's healing.
