I think it is good to think positively and work towards it. Perhaps we will never have a world without murder 100 per cent but if we think positively and work towards it perhaps we will have an 80 or 90 per cent sucess. so it is important to think and work towards the betterment of the world with faith that we will achieve something better than if we were to sit and accept "reality"

It's hopeful, but also foolish; foolish hope, if you will. People can believe in the coming of flying pigs, but it will never happen, no matter how much hope we pour into it. Although Christianity became fact and law when we poured our hope and belief into it, the same cannot be applied to everything, including a world without murder. Even in Heaven there were wars and skirmishes, as well as confrontations and skirmishes in the Garden of Eden. Thus can be proven that there can be no paradise without war, that no place is perfect. But think of it this way: if the concept of murdering and killing and war and hostility never existed, what would we have to compare love and kindness and caring and nourishing to? Would we be able to tell the difference, not knowing another reality? What if another possibility comes along that makes a murder seem like nothing at all? Either way, there will never be a world without murder, because that would be a perfect, perfect world, and we all know that nothing is perfect or was meant to be for very long, I'm sorry to say.

No. No hope is stupid. No dream is stupid. The fact that you are wanting a better life for everyone is a wonderful thing and shows to the rest of us that there is hope. That there are people out there who want peace. Who want understanding. Who want for us to "all just get along!" But the sad reality is that it doesn't appear that anytime in our lifetime this could happen. The world is a downright depressing place sometimes, and scary, especially if you are a parent. The reason we have what we have in the world is because we are all given free will. We all choose what path we take. And unfortunately, the easiest path sometimes is to let our animal instincts guide us. The right path is hard and wrought with sacrifice. But the payoff is that when we go, if we truly live by the "do unto others" mantra, we know that our presense in someones life was a positive thing. That because they knew you, they were better off. That is all we can attain in this life. We can control ourselves and our actions. If we all do this, eventually we could have a utopian society. Unlikely though. The act of controlling others or trying to is where we run into probelms. If you are a constant positive presence in someones life, even if they have a completly different belief system than you, you will break through to them. It is contagious. And in the end, what you do, your decisions on how to live YOUR life and how you treat others, is all that matters. Keep hoping, man! I love idealistic people!

Its not stupid to HOPE, for its an individual preferencewhether to hope, pray, thought etc. Its not stupid if its for a just cause as you have mentioned it, 'a world without murder'. It may well be realised, but in my opinion, not in another century or so until we, human race learn to fully accept & adapt to the fact that we are different from animal whereas proving dominancy and acquiring power via threatening others are not civilised.
well, that's what i think & to start it, i have to think as i have said and the only i can actually tell others. By this, I can HOPE that this idea would be accepted as an idealogy in another century or so..

I think it would be stupid if we couldn't hope for a world without murder. I still wish for a world in which we never knew what murder stood for. Maybe in our children's, children's time.

It is always good to want and hope for good things. Changes in this world for the better always have started with people wanting and hoping for those changes and better ways. If enough people believe it can happen, then it has a good chance of happening.

Hope gives us something to cling to, without hope what do we have. We have hopes for ourselves and hopes for others
Faith gives us strength to pick us up when feel weak and to keep us strong today and tomorrow, and it opens us to hope-something to cling to
I am strong with faith and full of hope for today and tomorrow-I will NEVER give up clinging onto hope, and I will NEVER lose the faith that gives me hope
Does that make me stupid?...
You decide
