I ended my period on August 18th. I had sex for the first time on August 21st. About two weeks later I got what seemed to be a light period for about a week. Just a few days ago I got some brown spotting for two days. Could this be implantation bleeding? Any suggestions on why I had bleeding two weeks after sex?

1st, Implantation usually occurs 5 to 7 days following conception. So, bleeding more than 10days out from ovulation is unlikely to be implantation bleeding. It also doesnt last a week. Furthermore, it is usually just a few pinkish watery drops (looks kinda like watermelon juice) and not all women experience it.

Ovulation occurs NOT on the 14th day of your cycle but 14 days before your next one starts (i.e.: 14 days prior to getting your period). Now if you ended a period on the 18th and, hypotetically speaking you bled for 5 days, then your cycle start date for that month was the 14th of Aug. You would have had sex on the 8th day of your cycle. Sperm can live in the body, if the environment is right, for, on average, 4 days. So, lets say sperm was there for the 8th-11th day of your cycle. At the latest date which was the 11th day of your cycle or the 24th of August, if you'd ovulated on that day, your period would have been due again on the 6th of September and your cycle would have only been 20days long. Admitedly, that's not impossible, but certainly not that common and is thus, unlikely. Do you know how long your cycles usually are? Regardless, you should--especially if you're now sexually active. Start writing down on a calendar (or somewhere) on which date your period starts. Then, after a time, say six months, you will be able to see what is normal for your body. Today, of course, is just the 22nd. Becoming sexually active can temporarily upset your cycle. I suspect what you experienced a few days ago was nothing more than your period, a little different. Next month it could be extremely heavy. Still, you can never be sure until you've tested. Get a pregnancy test and find out once and for all. Get to know your body. If you are afraid to approach your parents about it, talk to the school nurse or the health department in your area.

As far as the brown spotting is concerned--it is definately not implantation bleeding. In either case, if you've missed your period or suspect you may be pregnant, sounds like you are far enough along to test.

more than likely it's not implantation bleeding....because you had just gotten off of your period. it's probably from where you had sex for the first time.
