leogirl got a bit mixed up. It was Prescott Bush. Prescott brought Hitler up in politics from the time he was a low-level beurocrat, and between fund-raising and from his own personal wealth, gave Hitler over $100 million (adjusted for inflation, that would be well over $30 billion today). He also took young Hitler under his wing and taught him personally about politics, control, the use of fear tactics, and many other things. He continued sending money, support, and arms to Hitler until 1942, when Roosevelt forced him to stop because we were already at war with him. Roosevelt had been asking him for years, and finally threatened to charge him with treason.

I know Joe Kennedy as the US Ambassador in London had to skedaddle his *** out of London pretty pronto, for his support of the Nazi's. Roosevelt was not very happy with him.
