search for car seat reviews or ratings. Consumer reports is a great place. Also, visit babycenter.com or parentcenter.com, they have a lot of info and also message boards to ask other parents what they think of models.

Go for the one with the highest safety rating (which is only good if it is installed properly) and is most suitable for the next couple of years growth.

check out the consumer reports magazine. they rate just
about everything.
