Young chinese people hold extreme hatred towards japanese people. I know japanese did things to them in the past, but that was the past.. not all japanese torutured the chinese.. and the young generation japanese are not going into china with scoped sniper riffles and shoooting everyone. So why chinese people hate japan so badly. This kind of sentiment could turn into a future of war.

well, you know what? it's not about the horrible things they've done to the chinese in the past. the chinese hate the japanese because they are changing history text books in japan, and delecting the parts about how cruel they were to the chinese before. If this continues, the younger japanese generation will never know the evil deeds their ancestors did. The japanese don't even admit that they've done wrong.

Chinese people are not unforgiving people - but we do get angry and extremely annoyed when someone does not say 'Sorry' for doing something wrong. In this case, during World War 2 the Japanese stormed through Nanking/Nanjing killing more than 300,000 people including pregnant women, the elderly and children. Just look up 'the Rape of Nanking' to find out what happened.
Today, many Japanese do not know about the atrocities that happened, nor do the school there care to educate them about it. There are good reasons for the Chinese anger against Japan and it's government and these are issues that can't just be dismissed with the Oh, it's such a long time ago...just forget about it" excuse. Chinese people have backbones and dignity.

well, japan did some very bad things to china and korea which were unforgivable
but you're right, that was the past,
I am chinese and I fell sorry for those who have been killed
but I have a japanese friend and he wants relations with both races
But you have to admit, the Japanese back then were bastards
China were the good guys
and in Japan, they censor the event in their textbooks
and Japan has to take the blame for it and forget it
But my parents didnt teach me to hate Japanese
I think we should all spread love and peace

The information the government teach is very biased.
Actually the mainland Chinese can't access many informations.
Cos China confine the Internet access.
Even for their own history, they can not reach the real information how world describe.

Actually whole population of Nanking at that time was only 200,000.
China always use big numbers which start with 3, such as 3,000, 30,000, 300,000,etc when they wanna exaggerate things in their history. Actually the number have been increasing some times. First 25,000, then 100,000. and today 300,000?
Chinese scholar also admit this Chinese tendency. so weired.

the goverment of china needs the young people to place there attention outside of there borders so they dont look at the goverment of china. The fact that the whole country of Japan DID exaclty the same thing at one time> I would keep my focus on what your own leaders are doing. Make sure You keep your eyes on the very very few who beet the drums of war.

They teach their kids at school that Japan is an evil country which killed many Chinese in WWII and is still planning to conquer China.
As "Rich" answered above, the government is leading the people to keep their attentions to Japan (and other countries) not to itself.
