Why is it that every year the earth seems to be hotter?

Is it me or does seems that earth is melting down, because of heat. every year earth gets hotter and hotter, the temperature keep rising up. for example this summer in new york the temperature reaches up to 106 degrees F

Luara... to clarify things. With the ice caps melting, (which is happening), it dilutes the saline in the water, the saline is what helps with the flow of the oceans, and the oceans affect the weather. If the ocean flow stops, (which could happen from melting ice), we would see another ice age.
The temperature does fluctuate naturally, but I think we should be concerned about the way we are treating the earth.
