Due to the unprovoked sneak attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, the United States declared war on Japan. President Roosevelt, urged by Prime Minster Winston Churchill decided that first the war must be waged against the Axis powers in Europe. The U.S. and its allies won the war because of the committed ground forces in Europe, Sea Power in the Pacific and the use of the Atom Bomb.

Germany and Japan signed surrender documents which would make you think that the U.S. won the war. However because there is a better standard of living in Germany and because U.S. industry can not keep pace with Japan, economically and socially we have not won the peace.

The US entered the war because The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and a few days later Germany declared war on the USA.
The US did not win the war The war was in existence for some years before the US was involved, so much of the hard work had already been done by other nations, notably the UK and its empire.
Most of the great land battles in Europe were fought by the Russians and the US did not get involved until 1944 when the germans were already in retreat.
The US was a major participant in the war against Japan but it had the asssistance of the UK and its empire for the whole of that period.
The US was one of the victors but in terms of territory the Russians made the greatest gains.

The US definitely won both theaters. They beat Germany for many reasons, but Hitler's death was really the final nail in the coffin. Japan's defeat had a lot to do with the A-bomb.

They fought Japan because of Pearl Harbor on 12/7/41. Germany declared war on the US a few days later, even though they didn't really have to because of the Tripartite Pact (which was an alliance signed by Germany, Japan and Italy in 1940.) In any case, the US had joined up with England earlier than that - see the Atlantic Charter and the Arcadia Conference.

First what are they teaching in schools that you do not know the answer. its been said the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on Dec 7th 1941 led by Yamamoto. Although the Japanese didn't really intend us to declare war they just wanted to scare us. To leave there oil supply alone. They wanted us in the war but not then. But duh. stupid mistake on there part. We won because of several reason. We had unlimited resources, our country pulled together men went to war and women went to work ,that wasn't the case in other countries to the extent of the USA. The Oceans between us helped. You couldn't fly a fighter plan over or shoot a missile over here. Also If Hitler wasn't Killing They Jews and all the other of his "undesirables", it may have not been so easily won. By Hitler doing that, he diverted valuable resources away from the war effort. So all those people he Murdered Were his ultimate downfall. He was also fighting a 2 front war. with not enough resources to do it. Plus Hitler was his own worst enemy at running the military, To our favor, He sucked and was becoming even more delusional towards the end. Japan had some limited resources also. and Soldiers. But if it wasn't for the atomic bomb, "The Manhattan Project" Fat man and Little boy. the first was dropped by the Enola gay on Hiroshima. It was a good thing to because before Hitler was defeated he got material of to japan for a Atomic bomb. The japs were just weeks away from dropping the bomb on us.

Here are the answers to your questions:

1. The U.S. entered the war because Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and Germany and Italy declared war on us shortly thereafter.

2. The U.S. won the war because they coordinated their assault along with the British and the Russians and whoever was on the allied front.

3. Yes, the U.S. won, but it was a cooperative effort. I suggest that you do some reading on the subject. It will enlighten you. Or if you're lucky, talk to someone who SERVED in WW2.

Contrary to popular belief, the U.S. didn't enter the war after Pearl Harbor. They did assist Britain in loaning out naval ships to aid them against Germany back as early as 1940.

We entered into World War II because the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in Hawai'i. The war had been going on for some time before the U.S. got involved. We won the war because of having a good military, good allies, and by Hitler making several miscalculations; like trying to invade Russia in the winter and sending troops to Africa

The U.S. entered the war with Germany because German u-boats sunk American ships supplying Great Britain, and because it was clear the Germans were about to take over all of Europe without US aid. We entered the war with Japan because of Pearl Harbor. The US won the war in Europe because after the D-Day invasion, allied ground troops broke the German lines in the Battle of the Bulge, and with the P51 fighter craft entering the war to support our long range bombers, allied bombers bombed Germany into submission. Also because of sheer numbers and unlimited resources, which Germany just didn't have. We defeated Japan after several naval battles were won by the US, and the atomic bomb was dropped on Japan, after which Japan surrendered.

The US refused to get into the war inspite of the request of Churchill and Stalin. If the US had agreed to get into the War before the invasion of USSR, Pearl harbour may not have heppened. It was only after the Japanese very stupidly attacked Pearl harbour did the US enter the war. The Allies won the war.

Franklin D. Roosevelt declared the United States to be at war in response to the tragic bombing of Pearl Harbor in the early 1940's (I don't specifically remember which year). Before this incident, we avoided getting pulled into the war as much as possible. With the combined heroic efforts of our allies (British, French, Russians, etc.), we, as in the Allies, won the war in 1945.

We were lending military equipment to the British before Pearl Harbor, after the bombing is when we took an active role. We won by our determination, our resources, and the ability to produce war equipment. The US, Great Britain, and Russia won the war.
