its the day that end summer and begin fall. its the time when we officially know that shorts and mini skirts, tank tops and open toe sandels are hitting the back of the closet. its the day when we know that the day to wear colors like brown, ivory, dark green, and of course warm sweaters are officially in. its a day we know eating ice cream outside on ur front porch is time to stop doing that. its a day to tell you all the excitement of the summer is becoming a calm, cool, cuddling under the covers fall.

Actually, September 21 is the equinox in both the hemispheres. It's the start of spring in southern hemisphere and autumn in the northern hemisphere. The Sun is exactly on the 0 degree latitude or the equator. The day and night are of same length everywhere (12hrs.-12hrs.). The constellation Libra is behind Sun now.

While Sept 21 is close to the autumnal equinox, it rarely if ever actually occurs on that day. It usually occurs on the 22nd or the 23rd. This year fall begins the evening of September 22nd for the United States.
