I live in a place that when you drive down the road you must have patience for the many tractors, you first learn to drive in a big ole' rusty truck (trying not to run into the pond) at probably around 10 years old, theirs generally at least 3 old cars up on cement blocks in everybody's yard, every body goes to granny's house after church on Sunday, every where you look their are horses (or cows, or tobacco, or chickens!), everyone is conservative and pretty religious(bible belt baby), you see confederate flags allot (though not a sign of racism now, though some may think that. But more of a sign of the “old ways” and rednecks). A Saturday consists of a day at the pond listening to the Allman Brothers (who cares if you scare off the fish?) and the night time is drinking Jack Daniels (from a bootlegger no less considering we are a dry county) while playin' all the Rolling Stones songs you know. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and ALWAYS consists of these things: grits, fried apples, biscuits, bacon, sausage, eggs, gravy....and more added on. We run our words together often (i.e. ya'll, you'ns,) and say things like “well I reckon that there is a trout and not no bass“ or ”do what?“ instead of just ”what“. We value morals very deeply though don't always abide by them until we are older (sorry but that's the truth or else their wouldn't be no business for the bootleggers!), and when the fair comes to town everything closes (from businesses to the schools) because everyone goes.....and I guess that's all I'll tell you, even though that doesn't even sum it up.

I live in a city, 50 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. there are still blue roofs from "Hurricaine Rita" a year ago. but many things are getting back to normal. WalMart still hasn't gone back to 24hr yet and there are still a lot of help wanted signs.
Today for the first time we saw a rabbit in our backyard! I guess it is someone's pet. We see squirrels all the time. My sister has one trained to come for pecans when she goes outside. She calls him Junior. Kinda goofy!
But not far from here there are wild rabbits that live in overgrown fields. I like to look for them while I am driving at night. I enjoy nature.
This week I ate hot smoked boudin. It was good, I want some more. And my sister tried to make a gumbo, but it turned into a stew, it was good.
I love to go to the Chinese restraunt for snow crablegs, I try to go at least once a week.
I go to church twice a week. I really love the Lord.
People here are friendly, strangers will smile at you easily. And the last time I had a flat on the side of the road, a very nice man and his cousin did all they could to help, even making a trip to his home to get a jack that would fit my car and working forever to get a stripped lug nut off. Nice people, God is good.

Where I live, beer is cheaper than water, people steal the mail, one of the main roads in the capitl city closes on sundays from 6 AM to 1 PM so everybody would be able to do sports there, it's dangerous to walk there at night and when a policeman stops you he usually wants your watch or cash.... sad...

It's chilly and breezy and mainly everyone keeps a nice yard. I have to plant my spring bulbs soon, as it looks like we'll have an early winter here. It's snowed on Halloween for the last 3 years. And in 97 it snowed clear thru the first week in June.

Sounds nice. I live in a beautiful place with tons of nature and wildlife. (Not so nice if you are driving and a big ol' elk is sitting in the middle of the road)
Right now, however, it's cold and rainy. Although we need the rain to put out the fires, I'm not ready for the cold.
