I am curious actually. How many of you in the States, Canada or the UK, especially those in business, are under the harressment of organised crime? How many of you know of people who are victims of them?
What did these organised crime forced you to do? Pay protection money, peddle drugs, forced prostitution?
How safe is a person from organised crime like the mob? I mean crime, not legal business, run by the mob.
What can you do to get rid of them? Are the Febs effective in helping an individual fight off these people?

So my question is, how widespread is this organised crime in these countries? How safe is the average man from this? Is there any adequate protection on the average man in the streets in these countries?

Those well Known thieves Microsoft started dipping into my account stealing money (They didn't invoice me nor tell me they were going to steal, deciding I might like a service I hadn't asked nor wanted) that they had no rights to but it is organised by the UK government that you can not stop a Internet transaction occurring without the permission of the Internet Company, (asking a thief to stop stealing). If that isn't organised I don't know what is.

As a person involved in anti organisation policing for a number of years in Northern Ireland It is difficult for persons to complain or take action against these persons, who may be from their own area or neighbourhood. The fear factor comes into play and once in the trap it is difficult for a person to get out. There are legal measures in place in all countries but it all depends on the willingness of people to come forward and speak to the authorities concerned.

I've never met anyone who was threatened (or even met) anyone in organized crime. The real threat to our security comes from drugs, drug dealers, dope fiends that'll do anything for cash for their next fix, etc. Law enforcement in some areas turns a blind eye on the drug problem or sees it as unsolvable. Even worse if you testify against someone in a drug crime, you life may be at risk.

No way. The weak will give in to the easy money but most businesspeople I know wouldn't give it a second thought.
In general they don't mess with corporations; the self-employed and small businesses are the easy targets.

I know of a story of 4 nigerians, who went to Ireland,
they visited a pub, and asked to see the landlord, and demanded protection money, otherwise they would demolish the pub, and everyone in it.
The landlord said he was just the manager, and to come back at 5, so they could speak to the owner.........
They duly came back at 5, walked into the pub, and got the sh_t kicked out of them, got kneecapped, and thrown in the street....
It was an IRA pub, they were demanding money from.
