As a former practitioner in an ER I can say that definitely the hospital should be sued. She should have been brought into the treatment area immediately.

Moistakes happen and laws can't truely dictate when an ER is full. If an ER is working to capacity and closed to further arrivals, then patients in danger of immanent death must travel to a further hospital, thus increasing the risk of death.

Do I think what happened is right? Definitely not. But an over taxed healthcare system can be easily made to balme.

Yes and they SHOULD be tried for her homicide. For the love of God aren't emergency rooms for emergencies? This should never have happened, not in the U.S. not anywhere. I would like to know if they where too busy with their coffee breaks or what exactly their excuse is. This infuriates me.
I wonder what would have happened if she had no family there to see their total lack of care. We probably would never have heard of it, it would have been hushed up quickly and never seen on the news. There already are laws, and they broke them. In essence they denied her care.
And don't believe the hype that they were to busy, they just were negligent.period. If you go to the E.R. with chest pains, it is not their job to say 'oh it is nothing you have gas' and make you wait. She should have been fist in line for an EKG, no mater how many people were waiting. I am not a doctor and even I know that.

That's awful, especially if she could have been saved, with fast and proper medical care.
