Depends on how complex the job is, don't feel self conscious about asking questions, you need to learn how to do things right the first time so that you don't end up doing things wrong all along. If you are asking the same questions over and over then maybe it isn't the job for you, otherwise, keep being inquisitive!

It should only take two weeks for anyone to feel with what he/she is doing and making sure that the tasks are done correctly. After that you should know the routine well enough to do it without question. You'll always be asking questions whenever you aren't sure about a certain task and that's normal. This this is how we learn about doing new jobs.

It really depends on your position and previous experience. It usually takes about a year at any position to be really experienced at it. (In the business world) If it is a technical trade, it might take even longer. If it is retail or food service, you should be fine within a few weeks.
