Oh, wait, I know there are some of you who will pull out the "poll tax" argument, that some citizens don't have the money to pay for an ID. Sorry Skippy, Georgia even goes as far as dispatching a vehicle with all of the needed ID equipment to make it for you, for FREE!!!!!

That's a good question. Maybe because they don't want to lose those votes. I agree with speakeasy, they need to be removed and I don't care what party they are from!

How about this for an answer?
Despite loud proclamations by anti-immigration and anti-immigrant organizations, there is NO credible evidence to support the claim that non-US citizens vote in any significant numbers. Despite the fact that EVERY SINGLE US STATE has a law prohibiting non-citizens from voting in federal elections, not a single US state has accumulated more than a handful of prosecutions for this crime. Perhaps you could point me to statistical data to the contrary.
This is yet another example of a supposed "magic bullet" that will eliminate a societal ill that does not actually exist.
In fact, all the Federal Election Integrity Act actually accomplishes is to further chill the constitutionally protected rights of LEGITIMATE US citizens to vote. Breaking DOWN barriers to citizen participation is where our efforts should be focused, not on establishing new ones.
If you're going to support proposed legislation such as HR 4844, you'll need to do your own personal homework and verify that the claims made by backers of the bill are the least bit truthful. In this case, I'm afraid you will find that you've been hoodwinked by someone else's virulent anti-immigration agenda. Perhaps the 196 congressional representatives that you've cited have taken the time to do more of their homework than you.

What does a Photo ID have to do with the constitition? Back then you had to be male and own property to vote and slaves were 3/5 of a person --- and also no cameras.

If you are a politician, and want people who are illegal aliens voting for you, then you would want illegal aliens to be able to vote for you. The politicians like that want to buy votes by increasing spending on programs for the poor, or for minorities.
There also is a lack of spine in many politicians, they just avoid offending people. There is a militant anti-racist, political correctness movement going on that's taking over this country, it's bordering thuggery really.
I might also add that many of the bills that are voted on have lots of other goodies that the honest politicians don't like. There are just a few politicians that rarely vote in favor for any bill because of all the spending, and nasty stuff that violates the constitution in them. Please show appreciation for these few politicians.

It is time to throw the bums out. Forget elections. Traitors need to be removed immediately.
It seems Al Gore's 'Motor Voter' scheme is picking up steam. It was designed to allow illegals to vote in '96. They got away with it, so they're expanding the idea.
This is death for America.
I just heard on the radio that there are students in Houston pledging allegiance to the Mexican flag!

We should have no tolerance for Party crashers Canada's rules work. Babies born to illegals shouldn't get US birth certificates either.

you should probably read the ENTIRE bill, and understand everything about it before you pass judgment. Often times, a simple bill includes some pretty ridiculous stuff in it!!
