What engine do you have?
With the 3.3 and 2.5 there is a serpentine belt that runs everything. With the 3.0 the AC belt is separate
If you have a 3.0 you can run without the belt. Any other motor you cannot!!

we just had a huge spate of issues w/ our 96 plymouth voyager van - the fan belt kept blowing off when we went through a puddle or if it was raining hard - seems there was a recall - we had the belt replaced and all those little round cogs type doohickies checked before the issue was resolved. the belt controls the power steering and fan.

yes the ac belt does run other things on most models,my careovan did the same thing ,I just went to the ayto parts place and found a belt theat would fit and put it on and down the road you go. goodluck.

Fire45 is correct. If it is equipped with the 3.0L V6, the A/C compressor is driven by itself with a separate belt. All others use only one belt.

i own a repair shop,,and to the best of my memory it doesn't run anything else on the vehicle,,i think you can remove it without loosing anything else on it,,it might be a good idea to remove the belt from it any way something Else may fly off of it,and do some damage,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

replace it. go to napa, or auto zone, or o'reileys and pick one up there not too bad to replace and they dont cost that much... Its only going to get louder ;)
