i think people call them lie bumps they are ridged around the tips of your tongue they hurt so bad that i cant eat anything is it from eating alot of sour foods cause i eat sour punch straws like amost every day.

I have never heard of this before. Maybe you should see a dr just in case it may be something else. Better safe than sorry and he/she may be able to tell you a good remedy for when they come up again.

Oh wait, I just saw the last line of your question. I have gotten "sores" on my tongue from those same darn candy straws. You just have to let them heal and try to remember the next time you want to eat them non stop... took me many a time to finally remember for good, lol.

Basically this condition represents a mild inflammation of some of the tiny bumps on the upper surface of the tongue. These particular bumps contain some of the taste buds of the tongue and because of this, they contain a lot of nerves. Even a little inflammation causes these bumps to hurt much more than their size would indicate.

Currently, the cause of is unknown, and there is no effective treatment besides numbing or covering agents.

Try rinsing your mouth out with salt water. Sometimes helps. Maybe a touch of that tooth gel that stops teeth from hurting. I have heard of putting that on them to numb the pain.

I don't know what you can put on your tongue to stop it from hurting, but I know what you should do, You should go see your doctor to find out what the reason for that occurance and let him/her treat it. Do it NOW

Straight baking soda. Stops the hurt and gets rid of them in less than a day.

Cepacol--(or listerine)
put some on a cotton ball and put on the tongue for 5 mins.
great for canker sores too

cold sore, try orajel, or Rinsol by GUM. Should help with pain till it goes away.

get some orajel is meant for teething pain
they sell it at grocery or pharmacy STORES
LOOK IN THE TOOTHPASTE ISLE
they also make it in adult strength
numbs your mouth right up[ - you won't feel a thing :)

gargle with mothers milk do not us 2% or 1& or skim , did wonders for my tongue, use whole mothers milk

Rinse your mouth with warm salt water several times a day. Don't swallow it.
